comedy on offer in the ODDFELLOWS NZ International Comedy Festival and The
ODDFELLOWS Comedy Gala.
Auckland City is a major funder of the comedy festival, and has supported it
annually since it began 13 years ago at the Watershed Theatre. The festival has
grown into a major event on the entertainment calendar, and it is great to see
it continuing to attract leading international comedians and developing our New
Zealand creative talents.
This year's festival features over 250 local and international stars.
Headlining this year is Dom Irrera, one of America's greatest comedians and host
of the ODDFELLOWS Comedy Gala.
International comedians returning for 2006 include Danny Bhoy (Scotland),
Stephen K. Amos (UK) and Andy Parsons (UK). Those venturing over for their first
festival appearance include Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson), David
O'Doherty (Ireland) and Rhod Gilbert (Wales).
Kicking
off proceedings is the glamour comedy event of the year. The ODDFELLOWS Comedy
Gala will roll out the red carpet on Friday 12 May 2006. This is your chance to

event will deliver an impressive line-up including Andy Parsons, Stephen K Amos,
David O'Doherty, Janey Godley, Danny Bhoy, Arj Barker, and Jimeoin.
