The Auckland Racing Club will build on the success of the inaugural Auckland Cup Week in March 2006 with a summer carnival at Ellerslie to celebrate a 150 year milestone for the club.

The Auckland Cup is the most well known race in the country and is an icon of Ellerslie and the city of Auckland. It was first held in 1874.

The three major racing days are Mercedes Derby Day on 3 March, SKYCITY Auckland Cup Day on 7 March and Starcraft at Arrowfield Diamond Day on 10 March.

Horse with no name

We were working with Classic Hits to find the perfect name for the beautiful new colt bought in January this year at the Karaka Yearling sales.

We are proud to announce that the winning name is Karma-Karzi. The winning entry has won a hospitality package at Starcraft at Arrowfield Diamond Day on Saturday 10 March, valued at $1500.
