A Wanderer at Dusk
By Zhou Jianhao
He hones his own shadow against the dusk
over and over again
The more he hones
the thinner his shadow becomes
Just by a puff of wind
his shadow is blown into the night
It is not till a lamp emerges that he is carried out of the darkness
Translated by Ni Qinghang
Autumn Window
By Zhou Jianhao
Those soughings
are not issuing from dead leaves
but cries of pain of autumn
Such a big autumn
is trying to squeeze all herself into the room
only to be
stuck by the window I left ajar
It is no wonder that she has been painfully squeezed
Translated by Ni Qinghang
Traceless in the Wake of Wind
By Zhou Jianhao
Having taken a handful of autumn wind from her
unkempt white hair
and smashed it
onto the yard
Mother is still busy with the work in hand
It seems as if there was no wind blowing
But the leaves from a ginkgo in the yard
like thousands of golden butterflies
are fluttering around Mother
Translated by Ni Qinghang
