【澳纽网编译】随着对滥用工作签证的调查继续进行，近200名雇主的雇用移民的执照被吊销或暂停。

新西兰移民局正在调查另外167名雇主，他们持有经认可的雇主工作签证计划的执照。

自去年6月首次对剥削来自印度、中国和孟加拉国的移民工人提出担忧以来，该机构已经调查了数十名雇主。

移民报告说，他们支付了数千纽币的工作签证，但几乎没有工作。

在某些情况下，工人被发现生活在狭窄和不卫生的条件下。

从那时起，136名雇主的认证被吊销，另有51名雇主被暂停。

移民局表示，对经认可的雇主的另外167项调查仍在进行中。

2023年11月，奥克兰一家酒吧和餐馆老板因移民剥削指控被捕。

根据2009年《移民法》第351条，该企业主被指控犯有一项剥削罪，最高可判处七年监禁和/或10万纽币的罚款。

一名移民顾问也因2023年10月的调查被捕，罪名是提供虚假信息。

这些指控最多可判处七年监禁。

作为调查的一部分，大约200名根据该计划获得签证但留在海外的人被吊销了签证。

公共服务委员会对经认可的雇主工作签证计划的审查（最初应于2023年12月）现已推迟到2月下旬发布其调查结果。
