At the event, translator Cao Shui, the founder of Great Poetry Movement and Qiao Damo, founder of Beijing Poetry School had a conversation on the relationship between the World Poetry Movement and the development of Chinese poetry, the significance of contemporary Great Poetry writing, and the inspiration for humanity from the collision and integration of Eastern and Western civilizations. Cao Shui said that the core of the World Poetry Movement is to pursue the realization of the concept of “world literature”, and the core of Fernando’s “The Song of Dream Land” and his “The Epic of Eurasia” jointly point to the imagination and desire for a future world of civilization integration. Qiao Damo said that since Hai Zi proposed the concept of “Great Poetry”, Cao Shui was the person who carried forward this system. The Third Path of Writing refers to the diversification of poetry creation and the transformation of postmodernism. The pursuit of the “Beijing Poetry School” and Cao Shui’s “Great Poetry Movement” is similar, that is, to build a common epic of humanity with the Chinese poetry world as the guide.

Ouyang Jianghe, professor of Beijing Normal University, was very surprised by the publication of the Chinese translation of Fernando Rendon’s works. He praised Fernando as an actor and promoter, who is constructing a new perception of poetry and civilization for world readers through unique creative concepts. He also mentioned that Cao Shui has a broad vision of civilization and lofty poetic aspirations, and shares similar concepts and experiences with Fernando. For “The Song of Dream Land,” Cao Shui is not only a translator but also a communicator of poetry.

Robert Aedo, professor of University of Chile, stated that Cao Shui is a poet who is good at self reflection and ambitious. He has a deep understanding of the concept of “epic”, combining theoretical and historical perspectives, and can keenly perceive the dispersion and extremes of world cultural contexts. Therefore, his concept of a “poetic cultural complex” is beneficial, and poetry researchers and enthusiasts can gain great cultural friendship from his works.

Lamberto Garzia, Chairman of Italian Mondo Fluttuante Association, starts with the linguistic aesthetics of “The Epic of Eurasia” and points out that Cao Shui’s attitude towards poetry is devout, his demand for expression is ultimate and pure, and he creates every poem as a masterpiece. Lamberto recited two Italian versions of excerpts from “The Epic of Eurasia” in the video, proving that the rhythmic structure of Cao Shui’s poetry is elegant and cross linguistic.

In the afternoon of the event, an online signing meeting was held, hosted by Cao Fei. Cao Shui introduced the translation process of Song of Dream Land and the significance of the book’s publication in the live broadcast room, and shared the story of his glasses lost and recovered: “When I participated in the Homer International Festival in Türkiye last August, when I swam on the beach of Bozccada in the Mediterranean, my glasses fell into the sea. They all said that Homer borrowed your glasses, because Homer was blind, so to comfort me, I had to temporarily match a pair of glasses in the town next to the ancient city of Troy. The result was very miraculous that last month the Turkish poet Nurduran Duman told me that my glasses were still intact when they were found on the beach. I think it’s a miracle. My translations of Fernando’s “The Song of Dream Land” and my “Epic of Eurasia” are all about miracles, the pursuit of human ideals. As long as you believe, they will come true.” Readers in the live broadcast room are placing orders one after another. The agenda for the afternoon has come to an end, and the premiere ceremony has been a complete success. (End)
