- There are 82 new cases of Covid-19 in the community, all in Auckland and bringing the total number of community cases to 429.
- Associate health minister Aupito William Sio told Newshub Nation he understood cases have “not yet peaked”.
- Twelve of the 13 residents tested at the Amberlea Home and Hospital Care Facility in Algie’s Bay have returned negative results after a staff member tested positive earlier in the week.
- New Zealand is currently at alert level 4. Everywhere south of the Auckland-Waikato border will move to level 3 at 11.59pm Tuesday, while Auckland and the wider Northland region will remain in level 4.
- Cabinet will review Auckland and Northland’s settings on Monday, but it’s likely Auckland will stay in level 4 for a further two weeks.
- The boundary south of Auckland will be reactivated next week. No-one can move from one alert level to the other without an exemption. Police will be patrolling the border.
- Twenty-five cases are hospitalised in stable conditions – two are in ICU.
- Scanning or signing in is becoming mandatory at cafes, busy venues and events at all alert levels.
