卫生部副部长 Ayesha Verrall 和奥塔哥大学(基督城)传染病专家 David Murdoch 教授也在下午 1 点到场。 预计他们今天将谈论检测情况。

To date, they’ve relied heavily on effective PCR testing. As our vaccination numbers increase, we’re evolving our Covid strategy to include other types of testing. Professor Murdoch and his team looked at this space to gather research.
Verrall is announcing that rapid Covid-19 tests will be piloted in Auckland and Christchurch with testing to become commonplace across the country in order to detect the ongoing Delta outbreak’s spread.
Verrall says that while these rapid tests are quicker, they’re not necessarily as reliable as the testing we currently use. Which is why they will be used alongside health measures, and higher vaccination rates.
Murdoch is now speaking about the testing review he and his team were apart of.
默多克现在正在谈论他和他的团队所参与的检测审查。

新西兰人可以放心,我们在我们国家拥有出色的实验室服务。
Murdoch has pointed out some of the finding of the review. We need to be faster in some aspects and “up our game” around new technology, such as saliva testing, he pointed out. We need to be piloting testing to see how well things work in a New Zealand context, and working alongside communities.
Ultimately we need to have a robust system so we have the right tests, and that our system is prepared, he says.
他说,最终我们需要有一个强大的系统,以便我们进行正确的测试,并且我们的系统已经准备就绪
Verrall says a higher vaccinated population opens doors. PCR testing will likely remain the main form of testing in New Zealand, but rapid testing adds to our response.
Vaccination is one of our greatest tools. The more Kiwis vaccinated, the greater we can protect each other from the virus, she says. The risk of missing one single case when we are all vaccinated is substantially lower, she says.
